About Us

            Lukas Liquor began with a small 3800 square foot retail store in Lenexa, Kansas. Appealing to wine consumers became the direction of the company. In 1995 Lukas moved to an 18,000 square foot store in Overland Park, Kansas. It was there that the concept of "low margin, high volume" began. Again, catering to wine consumers was still at the forefront of our direction.

        In June 2000 the Ellisville, Missouri location opened. Lukas Liquor Superstore is at the corner of Clarkson and Manchester. At 24,000 square feet we became one of the largest stores of its kind in the Midwest. Today, with over 6700 wines, we are able to satisfy all wine consumers. 900 different beers has made us a destination for educated beer drinkers from many different states across the Midwest. We also offer 1450 different spirits. This assortment features all " mainstream” items as well as hard to find, unique items..

         Lukas was named “ Best Liquor Store” by Riverfront Times. Beeradvocate.com says we are the best beer store in Missouri. Our store is staffed with 5 wine consultants, 5 beer experts, 4 spirit advisors and 1 cigar expert. ”EVERYDAY LOW PRICE” will always be our concept.                                          

        In March 2008 Gary Bilder became the sole owner of Lukas Liquor Superstore in Ellisville. Gary has lived in St. Louis for fourteen years and is proud to be a part of a locally owned company. He has been a retail manager for 38 years. Gary was the first assistant manager of Sam’s club in 1981. He became the General Manager of the second Sam’s in 1982. It was at this time that Gary held the first liquor license with the Wal-Mart company. Over the last 38 years Gary has received many accolades. During his ten years with Sam’s, his store was twice named “Warehouse of the Year” and once named “Store of the Year”. He was a coach at the Walton Institute in Little Rock, Ark. His store also received the Helen Walton Award for Excellence. Gary is dedicated to having the best full service wine and spirit store in St. Louis. Get to know us. You'll be glad you did.

 

 

 Lukas Liquor Superstore in Ellisville has now been open for over 8 years. We have very little employee turnover because we all enjoy what we do. We also have very little customer turnover. Thousands of customers come to our store every week for a number of reasons. We hope to gain your trust and for you to enjoy our store as much as the rest of our customers. We hope to see you soon!
